Brighton, a town with a pub on every corner😂. Hanover Arms isn’t the Greys?
How many pubs did Southover Street have back in the day!!! Brighton was famed for having a pub on every corner, but there must have been 30+ in Hanover🤷😂
Oh wow. The Rolls Royce description dragged this place out of the darkest depths of my memory. Connolly leather and pungent leaded fuel from big engines on choke.
Not so sure about that. Huge swathes of Brighton were derelict in the 60s/70s and lots of the (then) town were falling to pieces. Still a great place to grow up (Beach, South Downs, EF students) but nostalgia can play tricks with the memory.
Think it’s a Marina on the K. Yep, should’ve known K was 71. My brother sold me his rotten 1968 Mark 1 Escort on a G and we still bicker about that now.😂
Amazing shot. Grover’s was still there as a shop (not business) until just before the pandemic. Petrol station is superb. Can’t believe that’s after 1972.
The old Worthing Fruit & Flower Company were on the corner of Prince Albert Street and Bartholemews - before moving to the now demolished municipal fruit market on Circus Street.
