I believe the pub windows upstairs have just been altered in the newer photo, the downstairs windows are the same. I don’t believe the pub is a newer building, I used to live near there and used this pub and it’s an old building.
We obviously can’t see all of the taxi office / garage in the old...
I would say not The Lamberettas because of the clothing, I imagine they would be wearing smarter mod gear.
Agree about Jez, he was good singer too and very nice chap.
There are only 4 in the picture, maybe the one missing is Reginald Fredrick Hornsbury, the bass player that is wearing a hat in all the photos on Google.
I definitely thought Bob on the right because of his hair, Dick next to him, I’m sure he wasn’t very tall.
I also thought it’s Zoot in the black suit as he looks like he’s wearing glasses and is tall.
I didn’t know that’s how the Constant Service got it’s name, I’m sure it had a sign with pipes in a loop at one time.

Edit - just found an old photo with the pub sign.
I didn’t know that was there until a couple of years ago when I saw this photo.
Not sure how I didn’t know it was there as I grew up not that far away and had friends in that area.
The building in the distance maybe isn’t there anymore, but the one I mentioned in Coleman Street does stand out amongst the rows of terraced houses.

I’m sure the nearest building is Pelham Street, the old technical college building, on Google Earth from above you can see it’s been demolished, but still there on Street View.
