It's all sorted. SEWater came this morning, dug a trench from the meter and found the leak about 14 inches away in the garden. It was sealed with new pipework, so I feel very relieved.
South East water have asked the leak tracing company to check it. They checked the meter 10 days ago and said there must be a leak somewhere. The house is a 70s build.
SE Water have already said the bill will be reduced, and my insurance company have said it's covered apart from a £350 excess.
Regarding garages, Gove has confirmed they can stay open.
Ashley is insisting Sports Direct has to stay open and all his workers are on zero hours. It is not an essential store.

Funnily enough I’m supposed to have the water men come on April 9th to trace a leak between my meter and stop tap, as we’ve received a £400 bill when there’s only 2 of us in the house. The stop tap was turned off and the meter was still whizzing round.

Only 2% of the land in Britain is built on. As for population explosion, the reality is the birth rate is dropping (although it may pick up again in 9 months time) and this pandemic is killing off people.
