Won't let me do anything as it doesn't recognize my email address. What a load of old best of British bollocks.

Hi folks. Rather than start a new thread, has anyone else been asked to change their bank details for the Dartford Crossing charge? Is this a scam? Here is the reply address:

Not from the thieves*. He was so gutted. I told him to move swiftly on and gave him what was stolen. Bit of a dad-fix, but right, under the circumstances. Just happy I could do it. Other side of the coin, I have had genuine** calls from my bank where I have refused to answer security...

That was one of the four words at HGSB that we were told we must never misspell, or else. The other three were: grammar immediately and I can't remember the fourth. Back on topic, my son had his account emptied (about a grand) around 3 years ago by a phone credit card scam. I read this year...

I have received several calls abut claiming injuries from an accident I had last year. I smelt a rat. Today I received this email: Dear Customer You may recall that xxxx was asked to contact you about mobility following your road traffic accident. To do this, we processed your details through...

Here is a new one for me. Call on mobile phone from 'Santander'. Sounded reasonable. The usual 'can I go through a few security questions?'. I said that I am not going to provide my details over the phone. Bloke (who has a British 'Indian' accent, if its possible to invoke such a thing) said...

The AA are shits. I was chatting about a home insurance renewal with an AA broker (when renewing my car insurance with them) and mentioned a crack in a wall (my house was built in 1880). They said I could get a 'free' check by a surveyor. Great. The surveyor said it was just a crack in and old...

That's grim, and your solution understandable. Twice bitten, etc. I'm of a mind that evil ******** eventually come a cropper as a consequence of their own shitness. One can only hope. Our personal situation is fine at the moment, and the Crimbo went very well, thanks (apart from my pal and his...

Indeed. Son was in bits. Two year's savigs all gone; he doesn't earn a lot. He spent many hours contacting the ombudsman, the old bill, etc., and maybe something will come of that (thanks to several NSC posters who advised us what to do), but I sorted him out with the money, and we move on...

Possibly. My son receive a phone call from his bank telling him they had a number of dubious transactions and would send him the verification codes by txt. The man on the phone stated what the transaction items were and asked for the code 'he had just txted'. This went on for 30 minutes or so...

My experience over the last 10 years is 90% of all callers to my landline are scammers. Three or four calls a day (when I was working at home). After I got call screening the phone would ring maybe twice a month. I have never had a scam call to my cellphone. There again, I am exquisitely...
