Hi folks. Rather than start a new thread, has anyone else been asked to change their bank details for the Dartford Crossing charge?
Is this a scam? Here is the reply address:
Not from the thieves*.
He was so gutted. I told him to move swiftly on and gave him what was stolen. Bit of a dad-fix, but right, under the circumstances. Just happy I could do it.
Other side of the coin, I have had genuine** calls from my bank where I have refused to answer security...
That was one of the four words at HGSB that we were told we must never misspell, or else.
The other three were:

Back on topic, my son had his account emptied (about a grand) around 3 years ago by a phone credit card scam. I read this year...
I have received several calls abut claiming injuries from an accident I had last year. I smelt a rat.

My son receive a phone call from his bank telling him they had a number of dubious transactions and would send him the verification codes by txt. The man on the phone stated what the transaction items were and asked for the code 'he had just txted'. This went on for 30 minutes or so...
My experience over the last 10 years is 90% of all callers to my landline are scammers. Three or four calls a day (when I was working at home). After I got call screening the phone would ring maybe twice a month. I have never had a scam call to my cellphone.
