Flour and some tinned foods (meat, some vegetables) are the main things that supermarkets are struggling to fill. Everything else is pretty much back to normal, although I have a slight concern about one of the major bread brands who seem to be delivering less and less recently.

From my experience on the shop floor this week, "I am shopping for my elderly parents/neighbours" is by far the biggest excuse for people trying to bypass the 3 item limit per customer. I never knew that there were so many people out there that did other people's shopping for them :rolleyes...

I don't know where they have that figure from, but I am guessing increased supermarket sales. I do know that Tesco alone took £170m more than expected in 1 week 2 weeks ago, so similar last week and that is just 1 chain.

Well the opening at 9am for NHS workers was "well supported" at Tesco Bishop Auckland! As hans kraay fan club said they have to change the Sunday trading laws. I have never seen that shop so busy. Not much left now today for the general public, but there you go.

Tesco Bishop Auckland has imposed a limit of 3 per customer for every product, except bog roll which is 2 small packs or 1 pack of 24. I guess that this is nationwide, but maybe just specific to us. Clothes and non food unaffected. They have also started closing at 10pm instead of midnight.
