This is a nightmare for Chris Waddle who think’s we’re shit for the PL and “lack something about us, unlike Bmuff, Villa and Norwich”.
Looks like we may be PL 2020/21, come what may.
Wouldn’t a lack of match fitness be equal across all squads after a few months off for all?
I’m not so sure that the pandemic and its effects will be clear by August, and when preseason training resumes.
Are we all assuming that the 2020/21 season will neatly start at the beginning of August?
The pandemic may well still be on then, with the UK’s staged spread of the disease deliberately lengthening the duration. Overseas players may spend their summer in nations peaking later on.
The short...
Spurs get back Kane, Son, Sissoko and Bergwijn.
Bmuff .... Brooks and Daniels.
Villa .... Heaton, Wesley and McGinn.
Big winners imho from an extended season. Complicated innit.
A further huge reason why Bloom and Barber will want an abandoned season a.s.a.p., with the blue-tinted goggles on.
Makes sense.
But what about the CL places? Assuming Mansour’s Citeh are banned for at least next season, that leaves:
Leicester
Manure
Wolves
Spurs
Sheffield Utd
Chelsea
even Arsenal
= 7 vying for 3 slots. A rather large cheque won’t sort it, some of those clubs believe their amazing with...
The clear winner on first teams would be Spurs, getting back all the missing players.
Whereas Izquierdo, for example, had a patchy performance record, but his reputation has shot up as the months have passed.
No shock about Spuds, they’ve had an awful season in all 4 tournaments. Arsenal more so, I bet they’d love 2019/20 to be expunged from the records. West Ham have spent hugely in the last three years, yet flirt with returning to the EFL.
Leicester, Wolves, Burnley, Sheff Utd, Palace, Stains would be elated with their relatively lofty positions just now.
They done well, in relation to realistic individual goals.
My radical suspicion is that Norwich, Brighton, Bmuff, Villa and Watford supporters want the null and void outcome.
Just an inkling.
That’s 5 votes at PL meetings.
