    One of the more irritating things about recent times online has been that it's now almost impossible to tell when people are being parodies and when they're being genuinely wrong.

    Excellent. One of the main problems with social media and the hatred spewed forth from therein is the cloak of anonymity. Calling them out and naming and shaming is one of the only ways people will learn that online actions have consequences just as offline actions do.
