With Boca, they copied the Holmesdale end.

Cheers for that. Barber said last summer at a forum that there were modest plans to increase capacity, all to be revealed, they were actively working on it. Imho the ends of ESU could be extended round the corners, possibly with disability/accessibility platforms replaced elsewhere, plus...

[Albion] How to improve NS and Amex atmosphere?

No. The NS’s cantilever roof information came from various engineering websites, eg: Also: http://albionsections.co.uk/doc/21.pdf

[Albion] How to improve NS and Amex atmosphere?

Looking online, you’re right, the NS and SS roofs are traditional cantilevers. Interestingly that makes the North and South stands completely independent of the ES and WS trusses. So these stands can be rebuilt or remodelled larger, without having to take down the hugely expensive and complex...

The back wall of the NS is not structural, so wouldn’t prevent your idea. The roof is held in place by the giant curved trusses, anchored underground in each corner.

I’m in block D NS 17 rows from the front, most people stand the entire match and the stewards leave everyone alone these days.

I sit near there, all of that is true. "Dunk is one of our own" on repeat much of the time.

I was going to say games of chess too. Always tense, a defender’s slip away from going a goal down or up, with the losing club then up against it for several reasons. When we scored against Villa, I went berserk, with added “f*cking hell, f*cking hell”. The quiet 65 year old man next to me...

I used to sit WSU in those early Championship seasons, tons of singing, on a par with the NS. Seems to have died away, other than GOSBTS pre match.

So obvious. Reiterated by the brilliant atmosphere and songs at full volume when we beat Spurs 3-0, just one PL example.

They’re not a panacea anyway. Go a goal or two goal down at home, the singing soon dies away, and the lone drummer sounds a dick.

I’m in the NS (D). You’re spot on. So quiet in these last 3 seasons, compared to before, bar the occasional famous win. People either seem tense or bored with the low scoring football or relentlessly tricky opponents, or there to chat and laugh with mates, ignoring the football.

[Albion] How to improve NS and Amex atmosphere?

Was the Amex quiet when we beat Spurs and Everton, or in 2015/16 and 2016/17? We’ve NOT been winning and banging in goals at home for quite now bar Bmuff, it leads to tense and then resigned emotions, few in the mood for singing.
