But this is the point I'm making isn't it. Do away with 'allocating' spots / seats - and people can congregate with other like minded folk. Doesn't matter if it's sold out - if you sell 3,000 tickets for 3,000 seats, everyone will get a seat somewhere.
People would get into the ground earlier to get where they want to be, thus generating a better pre-match atmosphere which rolls on. That's what used to happen - the grounds weren't mainly empty till a few minutes before kick-off like now.
This is the answer all day long. I know they go on about being able to identify people from their seats and so on - but it makes a difference at away games.
