You’ve been in the family stand since day 1?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but unless you have a constant supply of kids, won’t you need to move from there eventually anyway?
The reason why the subject of moving the family stand to accommodate away fans is because a part of the family stand HAS already been moved for next season. It’s been moved next to where the away fans are now currently. A lot of fans have said this is a silly place to put them.
Get the North...
Yes, but that’s Barber’s spin and he’ll come up with any excuse to try to stop a rowdy atmosphere.
I really don’t think it would be that difficult to add a couple of extra barriers. This away end could be extended into the East if need be, just like we did when we had away fans in the East...
I know the trusses hold up the West and East roofs, but isn’t the North roof held up by the big girders (not in this picture) that are attached to the steel behind the wall?
Well, we need to change his mind. It’s all getting a bit boring atm.
We’d also have the added benefits of not having the family stand moaning about being near the away fans and they won’t be able to ‘suck the ball in the net’. No doubt the away players get a massive boost from shooting towards...
Well, we have no idea how much it could cost. If it was all about cost we wouldn’t have built the stadium in the first place. The North Stand does look a bit shit compared to the other 2 stands.
The Watford game sold out about a couple of weeks ago, just like nearly every game we’ve ever had in...
Need the whole of the North Stand to be safe standing.
Make the North Stand a bit bigger, if it can be done.
And the most crucial part, move the away area to blocks N1G, N1H, N1I, E1A, E1B and half of E1C. This totals about 3,046. The interaction between home and away fans is severely missing.
There is room for maybe an extra 8 rows, which works out about 800 seats. I don’t see how this would have much impact on the transport as we hardly ever get 30,000 at the ground anyway.
The main obstacles are if the roof can be held up without the back wall and if we would need extra exits and...
The two stands aren’t overly large, they are a very good size for the Premier League (unlike yours). The North Stand does need to be bigger and the away fans should be next to it, you’d be surprised by the noise when you’re actually in it.
I’ve sat next to away fans at The Amex quite a few...
I’m sure fans half way down the centre of the stand wouldn’t mind my better view higher up and a bit to the left.
To me, the best place would be the centre, that seems like the natural place to try to suck the ball in. We didn’t have any singers in that corner when the atmosphere was probably...
North Stand does need to be bigger, there is room behind it.
Atmosphere would be a lot better if the whole stand stood, that is so obvious, stewards don’t seem to allow it though.
Still, apart from the back rows, the North Stand is just like any other stand in the stadium, it’s not rowdy...
N1F, in-front of the screen. Many of us have been there from the start after moving from H Block at Withdean.
I would say that I think the best position is central, that way we can get the whole stand singing.
We are quite central, but the NSK aren’t, they would have more impact if there were...
If it was made clear by the club that one whole block (from front row to back) would be allowed to stand for the whole game and would bring the singing groups together, then yes.
Obviously, my preference would for it to be in my block, we have a lot of Withdeaner’s in our bit who practically...
