What nonsense. Tony Bloom would be unaffected by a wide range of politely written views, some critical, on a football forum. Most of us never makes things personal, we’re no lesser fans for being critical at times.
What nonsense. Owners have been criticised long before “modern football”...
NSC’s player ratings from virtually everyone post Blades match, were all miserably low (including from positive fans). They outplayed us for virtually the entire game, a team of giants and powerful players, that had us in their pockets. Deserved winners, we were gash.
And our overall performances against Sheff Utd, Chelsea home and away, at Goodison? That’s not “competing”. Chris Wilder for example had us ‘on toast’ from the first minute.
We haven’t. For example, Stamford Bridge, Blades, plus plenty of other games where we’ve awoken from a subservient self late on when the damage is done - Goodison, Anfield, Leicester, Chelsea at home (where Reza saved us).
Cringeworthy at the time said, the Championship and League One is littered with clubs where owners had said the next step was Europe. It’s normal for a Board to have medium term goals, but better to keep it in-house when in the very unpredictable football business. Under promise and over deliver.
I’m holding fire on this. If:
a) We sign a quality CF, as well as taking 4 or 6 points from Watford/West Ham - we’re in a good place.
b) No striker and no wins, we’re in deep :shit: .
