Totally agree. I called a while ago that Duffy would be a monster at Burnley, he’s perfect for them.
However it’s questionable if we want to help improve Burnley’s back line like that.
I agree he’s not for us anymore. I never suggested otherwise.
I said he’s not a ball playing defender. But that doesn’t make him a bad one. He just needs the right team.
I’m sure you were saying this when Duffy was our player of the season.. right? Nah. Course you weren’t.
Shane made the right move at the wrong time. To a dinosaur manager with a deprecating Celtic team trying to play a system that doesn’t suit him.
If he were to go to a Burnley, a Brom...
Having watched him for a number of years still think Duffy’s way better then this.
That Celtic team is not set up to his strengths to begin with, plus poor coaching, and now with all the bad results and all the fans piling on you can see the guy’s confidence is shattered.
He needs to move on...
Having watched Shane for many years now I know he’s better then that.
That Celtic team is a shambles and mismanaged on and off the field. Unfortunately it looks like he’s being scapegoated for what’s going on, but Celtic aren’t collapsing because of him.
100% certain Shane can crush it at SPL...
Exactly this.
Shane is BRILLIANT for a certain style of play. If we’re playing 442 sitting back and inviting pressure, there’s not many PL CBs as solid as Duffy.
But when you’re pinging the ball about at the back, which, like it or not, is how the manager is setting us up, it’s nerve wracking...
This. He may not be for us anymore, but he’s easily good enough to be amongst the best in the SPL. No question Celtic fans haven’t seen Duffy at his best.
And if he goes to Forest, again he should be easily immense at that level.
I wonder if he’s been a bit distracted off field.
Team goes 3 at the back.
Duffy doesn’t fit the system very well so happy to move on to another club who buys him.
Club who plays 442 buys him and then switch to 3 at the back.
Correct.. our player of the year too people forget.
He is absolutely still a quality PL cb, just not for a ball playing manager. Duffy’s first time passes is not close the level needed for Potters style. He was caught out recently having to deal with a sick passing move. Dale has a similar...
