I'm happy with one or the other - obscure words with gettable clues or mind-bending clues with more straightforward words. Where you have both incredibly unusual words and very difficult wordplay, I think that's unfair and no fun.

The letters from Nugent and gig are mixed up (sally meaning attack, a bit weak imo) and put around (cover) the first letter (header) of Messi ie m. So you have an anagram of nugentmgig = nutmegging = putting the ball between an opponents legs (uprights).
