A mayor is always on the council. Her MEP status is ending soon. It was never going to last long this time. Had she been elected MP everything would have changed. It was the Green group's turn to provide the mayor (it goes in cycles).

You need to up your game to be taken seriously by anyone.
Of course it's a good idea. The practicalities are the issue. Future generations will want cleaner and sustainable environments- as well as inviting ones.
It must be looked at sensibly. Pedestrians are the most economically important transport mode in the city.
