    Yes that was the game. We used to play a few games on the pitches at ditching road at the top by the golf course. On a bloody great slope and if someone kicked it off, it was a long walk to get the ball back.

    I played table tennis for NALGO in the 70’s. We played just off st James’ street at the NALGO club which was near where the Safeway’s was.

    That wasn’t for ILEX Worthing was it...we lost 15-1 I think it was and I had a blinder in goal keeping it well under 25 which is what it should have been. Our centre backs didn’t like heading the ball, so being in goal was a thankless task!

    My Mrs’s nan ran the Walmer Castle, the Golden Cannon, the Constant Service and a couple of others around the area. In the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s Mrs Stockwell.

    Wow...I played for Aymer athletic when we created the club in the 80’s. I was centre back for a few years and then ended up in goal...all Sussex Sunday divi 13.
