I was emotionally quite angry on this thread earlier due to a number of personal, and still quite raw, incidents regarding MH (sorry if I offended anyone), but reading through it now - after a mellowing bottle of merlot - is quite enlightening. Is basically 3 nobends vs the world, isn’t it ?
No, no you're not correct at all.....................it does appear though, that you would be the type that tells someone suffering from clinical depression to 'pull yourself together' because the symptoms can be very similar to 'having a bad day' - just like one of my very close relatives did...
No - we don't need to raise awareness of, say, lung cancer (picked at random so don't start a separate string on that) in the same way, so they're not equally deserving of this kind of action IMO (deserving is the wrong word really - more 'necessary').
It's nothing to do with the laughing comment. The OP thinks all illnesses are 'equally deserving'. Of what ? This is about raising awareness and encouraging people to consider their MH and speak up........
I've literally just been speaking with a colleague (due back today) who is having to take time off work as a close (male) relative unexpectedly took a serious overdose on NYD and is being admitted to a secure unit.....................does the OP have any advice other than trying a bit of...
Guess the OP hasn't had to deal with mental illness impacting anyone close. If one single person is helped by it (maybe someone contemplating suicide who decides to speak to someone perhaps ? I dunno) then it'll have been worthwhile IMO. Football is arguably the IDEAL place for something like...
They were messing around with the Ref/lino comms thingies (not the first time this season). Not sure why they bothered.................
'Which way was that throw in ?'
'Dunno ref'
'I dunno either, I'll give it to Chelsea, they're a top 6 club'
'Good plan'
