Outed as a Palace plastic ages ago.

This. We’re unable to keep clean sheets in recent months, due often to defensive blunders. Other than at West Ham, we struggle to score. = losses and draws, falling down the table.

You replied to the Palace Troll, here to chuck in the occasional shite-stirring grenade.

We know it’s incredibly hard to gain promotion from the Championship, especially without parachute income. CH achieved automatic promotion, on the 6th largest payroll budget (excluding post promotion bonuses), brilliant work. There are many big spending chairman in the Championship eg Derby...

I don’t want to take sides. I’ve liked and like your NSC posts over the years, and I also respect JRG’s defence of CH’s record. Personally I was relieved that TB made his decision, I briefly lost my love for football after watching a host of clubs I don’t like (Burnley, Cardiff, Stains, Bmuff)...

When Codner was jailed in 1993, I recall him pleading with the magistrate/judge about a loss of income of £700 pw. As a first teamer, does that fit in with your chart? Separately, a bunch of highly regarded 19 years olds including Lynch and Gatting signed contracts in 2006, paying a minimum...

£55k a week has been mentioned as the top during 2018/19. That may be Dunk, Propper, Duffy, Gross, Montoya, Jahanbakhsh?

We have the answer from El Pres - £47k for first team regular starters only.

Thanks. Don’t know why, but that’s reassuring. If Steele and Button each earned £3m a year, for being not particularly good bench-warmers, football really would be mad.

I agree. What I really should’ve asked is whether the £47k is an average for the entire 25 man squad, so includes Button, Alzate, Connolly and Steele?

Calling El Presidente. Hi Kieran, a belated Merry Christmas. Can you confirm, to your best estimate, that our 25 man squad earn an average of circa £47k a week? Or if you think it’s much lower, and idea of the average? Ta.

It depends. If the median average in the full PL squad was say £25k, @JRG might be in the right ball park?

In chats with El Presidente over the last 2 years, our highest paid players such as Dunk were likely to earn £40k to £50k a week. Many others in the first team squad are on far less than that.

CH wouldn’t been involved in the scouting obviously, but at the initial stage on his needs, and then reviewing the results from Winstanley team’s analysis/reports.

Agree about Maupay .... imho better than Locadia and Andone. (CH did work with Winstanley on those signings, he shares some responsibility). Similarly Mooy .... the creative midfielder, with an engine and mobility, we’ve lacked until now for many seasons.

I think GP got it wrong too: 1. Defensively a huge gap between Dunk and Webster. 2. CM not packed with power to win that key battle. 3. Inflexible. After seeing Wilder’s lot push us back from KO and create openings, VAR coming to our aid, GP changed nowt. A depressing match to see unravel...

I from the camp (a majority?), who love what CH did for the club, a legend, giving so many unforgettable moments in the Championship and PL. All his doing (with a great owner bankrolling it). But the home performances and results from Feb19 onwards were utter garbage, so there was no...

Annoyingly Sheff Utd were an effective machine, every player outstanding in his role, in the manner that they completely outplayed us. Unbeaten away from home for 11.5 months. McGoldrick and McBurnie should’ve grabbed more goals. Wilder is doing an incredible job.

That’s irrefutable. In March another NSC’er took me to a meet-CH evening in the Amex Lounge. Chris brought up the subject of those three matches, saying “We were completely outplayed, they didn’t go to plan, we had some fortune”. Respect for his honesty.

Definitely a couple of NSC’s who’d feel vindicated by our May 20 relegation.
