There do seem to still be a few fans who don’t give Potter much credit for what he has done this season and not taken into account what you have highlighted.
#teampotter since City away when we went toe to toe to them
It seems that a large number of Albion fans are SHOCKED that we find ourselves in a relegation scrap. We finished last season as the worst team in the division and we now have a manager with no prior PL experience.
I expected us to be in the mix, and we are. Some of you appear to have given up...
Well we lost 5-0 and 2-1 against Bournemouth last season and in the 2-1 loss we took the lead and then sat back and conceded two with everyone behind the ball. Did I enjoy last night? No I didn’t but we are going through a bad patch and are still only 1 point down on last season I believe? So...
We are going to have to agree to differ. I can’t see any similarities in the way Sheffield United play and how we played for most of last season, except how solid they are in defence. They have scared the shit out of most sides when attacking even top six teams. You don’t go half the season...
The games against WHU and Fulham made CH revert to defending and taking no risks. It was his and our undoing..imo
We were murdered at Newcastle and rode our luck with a lucky goal, again imo. Apart from WHU and Fulham I don’t recall us taking the game to anyone else away from home. Memory is...
I was watching a different team to you then. We were set up to soak up pressure and hope for something on an occasional break, which often worked because of GM. I don’t recall us playing away like SU did at the Amex.
What Chris Wilder is doing at Sheffield United would suggest that managers don’t need to go ultra defensive if they haven’t got the best or most expensive players. You make it sound like CH didn’t have a choice and most of your arguments suggest that he wasn’t given enough money so didn’t have...
Shockingly shite pretty well covers it for me. Not wanting to go to games and coming out feeling angry is no way to spend an afternoon or evening.
The only other time I have felt like this in 40 years plus of following the Albion was most of the Hyypia tenure.
I am confident that we are unlikely to survive with 36 points this season and that even 40 might be iffy.

I am not THAT confident although the bottom clubs had less points at this stage last season, we were 10 points clear

Yep, I think 40 points may not be enough this season. Only Norwich look nailed on to go down...as things stand, but a couple of wins could even change that. I think we’ll be staying in the mix
Only 2 points down on this time last season now, not doing better yet but I really hope we will be within a few games
The football, however, is much much better, surely the detractors can now accept that? If not they never will
I do get the impression that there are a number...
I am as guilty as anyone of moaning and griping last season and being relieved when Potter was brought in BUT CH is an absolute legend in Brighton history. He gave us some of my best memories and games as manager and those last few months should not be allowed to besmirch the fact that he is...
