My Dad owned a 1973 Yellow Ford Mexico. It was his pride and joy.
So much so when I was learning to drive I had to use his old Escort van instead :moo:
Looking at the first picture reminded me of the time I fitted a smaller sporty steering wheel to my Cortina.
I huffed and puffed trying to pull the one off in your photo.
All of sudden it came loose and smashed my face in :eek:
That was my Mini Bug - My 1970 Cortina was roomy.
Used to go five up to places like West Ham with our scarves hanging out the windows :albion2:
We did shove em down our trousers within a mile of the ground tho :moo:
My favourite car was the one I got after passing my test in the late seventies.
It was a 1970 MK 2 1600e Cortina.
I had a mate who owned a garage and had a spray shop in Patcham.
We lowered the front suspension and jacked up the rear - fitted front and rear spoilers.
Resprayed it jet black and...
