Since August 18 Solly really upped his game, overcoming a lack of confidence at PL level.
He’s also far better defensively than all the other wide midfielders we’ve had for ages. Nullifying the Gravity Whore from the Amex match last December for example.
All rational stuff, you’re right. But Potter admitted we’d been outplayed, Lampard said it should’ve been a far higher score and Radio Sussex said it could easily have been 5, 6 or 7 - nil.
It was not a close competition, unluckily decided by fine margins. Brighton were outclassed by a team...
Radio Sussex made fair comment post match - said Montoya was bullied out of it by every Chelsea opponent he came up against in moments eg Willian, and they mentioned others too. Partly mitigated they said as Gross also had a poor game and offered no support.
The last great RW/RB partnership...
Ask the NSC board. Many posting, even in the second half, that we were playing good football, so much more enjoyable that in the past. Just a Connelly goal or two from a famous result. Meanwhile, in the real world.
Radio Sussex is interesting. Gross, Montoya and Bong in the spotlight. “Montoya bullied out of it by several opponents”.
Why is our right side so often our PL weakness? Every opposing coach targets it en masse.
Good points.
In a protective way, I’m glad that Muzza didn’t play. The bores would be on him as THE cause of the defeat, as they have been for the last 25 months.
Almost every successful team has a target man of sorts to compete with opposing CB’s. Otherwise the ball will be constantly...
He’s a huge pessimist. But laying into him, detracts from another capitulation against Chelsea. Some other bottom half clubs are always far more competitive when they play their likes. They are not ManC, sold Hazard, couldn’t win for mustard at home ... but the sensible people here knew...
Since we’ve been in the PL, the following clubs have beaten Chelski:
Wolves
Bmuff (twice)
Watford
CP
Newcastle
Burnley
Including some thrashings and victories at Stamford Bridge.
For us LLLLL and each one one-sided. We can’t keep saying that we never stood a chance anyway, everything’s alright.
You’ll be the easy target punchbag. As the fans so excited this morning about a famous result for the Albion today :lolol::lolol:, simply can’t admit we’ve been outclassed again.
I think something’s amiss with recruitment since we’ve been in the PL. Outclassed in countless matches under two entirely different coaching styles. I feel sorry for TB and Potter.
Who’ve stepped up to consistently produce in their role, when fit? Gross, Ryan, Bernardo.
Where’s the...
At full time, this would shirley be a record, at half time it’s astonishing. It’s not as if we’re Derby 2007/08 who had a single summer transfer window to get it right, yet decided to spend bugger all. We’re had 5 transfer windows and spent the best part of £200m to at least be competitive.
