A small piece of good news in a grim week - Alzate's loan move to Standard Liege has been confirmed. Shame the West Brom. one fell through, but good luck to him over in Belgium.
Both excellent old hands - and well worth keeping - but surely the young guns will (we hope) get better and better and slowly but surely take over. Even without Bissouma, Caicedo, Alzate, Moder, Mwepu and Mac Allister - with the prospect of Kozlowski waiting in the wings - is going to be one...
We'd better get a good price for Bissouma over the summer - there won't be any room for him in our midfield at this rate!
Good news if it looks as if Alzate might be staying though.
The thought of a midfield (Bissouma having been sold on for £50M and Gross off to a well deserved semi-retirement at Werder Bremen (It was them mentioned, wasn't it?) left in the hands of Moder, Mac, Alzate, Mwepu (if he's not too much of a loose cannon at times) and Caicedo (if he turns out as...
Shame. Doesn't have a lot of luck with injuries, does he. First the fractured back, now this. Hope he comes back stronger in the new year. Like many on here, I wouldn't have advocated a loan for him, but maybe given these circumstances, maybe a half season in The Championship - or abroad - might...
Jenks is having a hard enough time getting game time at Aberdeen at the moment, let alone winning over the fans, who think he's rubbish (and a southern poof with an ear-ring to boot)!
Mind you, if he survives the Aberdeen experience unscathed, he'll come back stronger.
We're possibly going to be a bit crowded in CM next season - Biss, Lallana, Moder, MacArgie, Caicedo, Alzate and Molumby all wanting to play. Even if we do sell off Biss, it'll still be a problem deciding who to leave out! Probably another season before we have to worry abut how to fit in Jenks...
