Archer. Stokes, Roy, Bairstow and Buttler were absent because of IPL, WC AND tests - that's a big commitment but there'll be no WC next year so I expect they'll all get a game of CC And Anderson played before he was injured and had to prove his fitness

Test players who played CC this season: Root, Anderson, Burns, Overton, Curran, Broad, Denly, Leach and Stone - nearly an entire team

That's old thinking. The habit these days is to let England players turn out in the CC - I'm sure he'll play one or two

One factor that no-one's mentioned is Archer playing for England. Remember, this time last year he wasn't expected to qualify for a couple of years and the club would have assumed we'd have him all season. They wouldn't have planned for him being missing and had to react quickly to get some...

Yes, I don't think it's a coincidence that our two strongest periods in the past few decades were when we had two really strong captains: Barclay and Adams. There were very different characters and captains but they both pulled up under-achieving sides and made them winners. I wonder if the...

I didn't know he hadn't signed. He's promising but I can't see there being a big rush of counties looking to sign him, I wonder what's going on there. I do think Hameed is worth a go - Sussex have got a good record at rehabilitating players who have lost their way or struggled with injuries...

I certainly would, he's one of the last players I can see being chucked. He's really come on this season - his first CC ton and some useful wickets too. Dizzy was talking about signing an international batsman (one is much needed). If Van Zyl had been fit all season, it may have made a...

    Follow-on was avoided before they started - it's 150 for a four-day game.

In other news, I see that Darren Stevens is just short of a double ton. I believe that Kent aren't renewing his contract, I wouldn't mind seeing him at Sussex - it's still a couple of years until he collects his pension
