The ridiculous thing is, these cities are not doing it out of some philanthropic idealism, it makes money! More people get into the city, more people walk from them bike passed shops etc. More journeys are made by bike, less strain on public transport, visitors to the city who do use a car can...
Downs Link is a great family ride. Recently went with the family from Shoreham to Partridge Green and had coffee and cake stop and Stan's Bike shack just next to the link. Really lovely ride out. Recommended to anyone, and is decent enough to take any kind of bike.
