Always good to have a defeat or 2 in pre-season to stop everyone thinking it will be easy. Birmingham will be a big test. I think last pre-season there we were woeful, but Bissouma rescued it at the end ? Perhaps we can do better this this time ?

I'd take 17th now - providing there are some green shoots of a brighter future beyond the next season. If we are going to play in the 17th-20th league for ongoing time eternal, then I'm less keen.

Central midfield is still a problem area ? Still, we have Bissouma, Băluţă and Alzate to make a difference, even without any new singings.
