Quite magnificent round and tournament from Lowry. Having backed him for plenty of majors, it is suffice to say I deserted him and layed him Today There is going to be one hell of a pissup in Ireland tonight Looking forward to St Georges next year and also St Andrews in 2021, hope to be at...

All over now, unless one of the biggest blow ups in history happen. Fair play to Lowry he has been brilliant and really took advantage of the decent weather yesterday afternoon. Hope the weather is better at St George’s next year as I’ve got a weekly ticket.

I would like to see Lowry win but have been laying him. Four shot leads can get turned over very quickly in golf. Should make for a great afternoons entertainment.

Unbelievable golf from Lowry today, be different tomorrow though. He had a four shot lead in the 2016 US Open and shot 6 over so it’s not over yet.

Still all to play for with 27 holes left. If Kopeke can get his putter going he will be a lot lot closer. Tomorrows forecast is getting worse and worse so it will be a survival of the fittest and luckiest:eek:

Yes, St Andrews is too easy unless the wind howls across the cross. Having played it in March, not off the championship tees, its suffice to say I didn't find it quite so easy:eek:

The links courses rely on the wind and scoring at St Andrews, for example, is pretty much always low with -15 in 2010 and 2015 with -14 in 2005. -8 won last year at Carnasty, these players just hit the ball too far for the links courses to have a defence, other than the weather. I still like...

For the sake of the coverage, I hope he doesn't make it.

This track certainly needs the wind to protect it as it's been a bit of a birdiefest Today so far. Fifty players under par at the moment although some rain is due there soonish and that may bring in more wind too so the later starters will have problems.

Rory and Tiger both likely to have the weekend off. A disappointing finish from Rahm who lost the plot with his approach shots in the last four or five holes. Still a wide open Open, lovely. Looks a great track.

Play has started already with Darren Clarke scoring a birdie on the first. Sussex amateur, Thomas Thurloway, parred the first, good luck to him Today. It looks a wide open Open to me and I can't be having Rory as I think the pressure of playing at home will be too much for him and he's not got...
