For my money, I'm in the Andone camp if given a choice. There's a very good forward player in there (albeit one who has weaknesses).
What are the preferred tactics over there though? If teams were generally playing with 2 up front, then a back 3 makes total sense. Very few teams in the Premier League do that though, so it would seem a bit of a waste of a player to have a back 3, especially if one of them is Duffy.
Even then, it isn't just the midfield. It's structural as well. How do we get midfielders in a position to support the attackers? Is it with quick, counter attacking football, and do we have the pace for such an approach? Do we do it by building up more effectively from the back, and if so what...
