They WERE TWENTY YEARS AGO which was the statement. We weren't talking about Everton in their entire history. We were talking about TWENTY YEARS AGO hence me referring to how they were getting on TWENTY YEARS AGO.
There can't be two of you this mad.
20 years ago they were FIRMLY a bottom...
Oh my god.
You were SPECIFICALLY talking about the last 20 years. TWENTY. 1999 if that helps you.
Not 116 years, not 1985, not 1927.
1999.
This really isn't difficult. Your statement that NO TEAM other than Leicester in the last TWENTY YEARS (SINCE 1999) has emerged from a bottom half team...
Right.......
That still has nothing to do with his original comment that no one other than Leicester has broken into the top half of them prem in the last 20 years. 20 years ago Everton weren't in the top half of them prem. This year, there were.
I don't understand why this is so difficult.
As stated, I was responding to the comment that NO ONE other than Leicester, in the last 20 years, had moved from a bottom half team to an established top half team. Nothing about their history before.
But thanks anyway.
You stated in the last 20 years, teams outside the bottom half haven't broken into it other than Leicester. Everton finished in the lower half 20 years ago and have improved into a top half team..... So this point alone has proved your original statement to be completely incorrect.
Let's go...
Another brilliant stat. Simply not true.
Spurs were quite often bottom half
As were Everton
West Ham finished 10th this year, have been relegated
Man City (you know, the team that won it)
And then you have one offs like Bournemouth and Burnley.
You're very good at making stuff up.
There is no doubt at all the Chris is a brilliant manager and, any club who wants to be promoted/stay in the prem should immediately look to hire him. I am gutted for him.
HOWEVER, this sacking/new appointment is about going onto that next step. Not 'just' surviving but wanting to push into the...
Chris,
Thank you. Just thank you.
The word is over-used but to me he is 100% a club legend. I truly hope he gets a chance to return with another team and given the applause and send off he actually deserves.
Is it the right decision? At the moment that doesn't even matter. What a guy.
