Thats nice you have a thing for Kompany's human qualities.
I've only seen him play football. I wouldn't have a clue what he's like as a person therefore can only go by when he kicks a round ball. But nonetheless, there's no harm in having heroes.
That's fair enough. Where I'm different is I actually want the top opposition players to play badly and show as little entertainment as possible. It's a strange game football when you pay top dollar to watch the best football in the world but hope for the best players to be injured or get sent off.
He still might be playing for them next season and yet he gets a standing ovation when he leaves the field. Why?
But yeah, obviously footballers aren't getting a god like respect these days, they only have airports named after them, statue's built of them, football clubs paying them insane...
I thought it was a standing ovation?
It's no debate that footballers are getting God like respect now. I've seen clips of people literally falling to their knees in tears at just being in the presence of Ronaldo. The man's as colourful as a chessboard
It just seems all a bit over the top the way these overpaid athletes get this god like respect even from those who don't follow them. There's no harm in giving the opposition players a standing ovation because they're good at football and also do a bit of punditry on the TV, I just don't...
He's hardly going to slate us for supporting his club?
I didn't give a toss and considering that's never been mentioned since (until now) it's pretty clear no one else gave a toss either. When the Shrewsbury fans all left whilst we lifted the Trophy at Gay Meadow, I didn't see or hear any of...
So he might still be playing for them next season?
If so, I guess the only way we don't allow that to look so embarrassing is, if we now give the same standing ovation for every top 6 player who get's subbed off against us.
It's the double standards which bothers me.
If you want to hang around and applaud the oppositions super star players, then can you please stop shouting out negative stuff about our own team. This season we've had our own fans calling for CH to be sacked, aj, Locadia and Stephens to be sold...
Oh come off it. They'd just won the Prem. When you're in that sort of mood, anyone will get a clap. Let's not pretend the City fans gave a toss about Bruno (most of them probably didn't even have a clue who he was). That was City's celebration day. Even I would've been applauded by them and I...
It was more City are amazing than we were shit in that 2nd half.
Proud we are able to host such a great club with great players and watch them lift the trophy.
Yeah but it was great to see City play so well. We just witnessed the best team in the world absolutely dominate us in that 2nd half. Definitely worth an applause
Stuff of dreams.
We're not talking about Brighton, we're talking about a City player who received more love from our fans from just walking off the pitch than Barnes (ex non league) received throughout his whole time with us.
