In a way, yes, sometimes. But we don't actually 'pull the trigger' because, like you say, the chairman takes action. They could hold firm (and have done in some cases) and it turns out for the best - but that's up to them.
They appoint, they dismiss – that's the point I was making.
Anyway...
I get what you're saying, I just don't get why would you suggest getting rid of a manager if you had no 'plan b' or replacement in mind. Even if a) they don't become the manager or b) turn out to be shite, at least have a SUGGESTION and a justification for the action!
I agree that Hughton...
I fully expect relegation at some point, don't you? How many teams stay in the Premier League for a long, continuous period of time? Eight, max?
I've said it before, but we are pretty much exactly where I expected us to be. It's the second season EVER in the Premier League – the most...
Disagree. If you are suggesting that you get rid of a manager, you must have a plan, or at least an idea of someone who could come in and do a better job. Countless times clubs haven't had that and ended up with three/four permanent managers for the season.
Anyway, you've kinda proved the point...
As I understand it, his main objective this season is to survive in the Premier League. He's currently on course to do that.
Who would you replace him with?
