We need a better CM, in an attacking sense. That’s how we’re losing games, not controlling games, not creating openings. Even Stains and Burnley, as away teams, were far better in CM.
Hopefully TB will get to grips with that this summer.
Then we’ll be able to if all our wingers, Locadia and...
It’s not just CH, most managers have done this for some time.
The days of the archetypal winger cutting the ball back for a no9 to head in, are far rarer than they were.
Managers preferring the wide player cutting on, or sending in an inswinging cross.
Izzy was ineffective in his 23 minutes, other than a powder puff predictable shot into Ederson’s hands. He’s lost all the zest, threat and pace of last season. Hopefully back to his best next season.
Against Championship Millwall, AJ was lazy and offered zero support to our LB. Noticed by all including CH, who replaced him.
You’re right about March though.
I think we’re in agreement then, as I sad pretty much every Albion player has a stinker.
Where we differ is that I think Jahanbakhsh offered next to nowt, just like the others. His alleged tidy moves etc, were inept, weak, without an end product, not ‘heads up’ football aware of team mates...
I wouldn’t scapegoat Jahanbakhsh as such, as pretty much all Albion players including AJ had shockers.
Put it this way, the Stains RB was not troubled by his lack of pace and strength, or his predictable runs with and without the ball.
Is only going to get better. In his second PL season he’ll be stronger and au fait with the physicality of the game here. As well as having to massively increase his work rate when we haven’t got the ball (went missing at The Den).
