Real money is with first pressings but early copies of the ones you mention are worth more than you might expect. If you have the stickers and posters with DSOTM it’s a bonus. Obviously Dylan and Beatles are popular but if you have copies of Never Mind the Bollocks or The Stones Roses, The Verve...

Looks great but plays terribly. Had to get a black copy to listen to. Put me off buying more coloured vinyl.

Getting nerdy I have a few albums I’ve bought that are marked Porky in the runouts. This is the mark of the sound engineer George ‘Porky’ Peckham who cut the records. I’ve got Deep Purple Made in Japan, AC/DC Let there be Rock. Shown here on Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division

:) Its made some records from the sixties and seventies that were unplayable a joy again. Although one of my wife’s Rolling Stones record, a first edition mono version of Aftermath is beyond help!

Very nice I’ve not heard a decent Rega. I bought the Linn through Monkey Music in Baker Street about 7 years ago. It was a bit of a bargain at £500. I wanted to go vintage. At the time I too had a Project turntable which was very good and a good start to serious record players. The Linn did need...

A friend of mine orders his by the release date. Mine are by alphabetical order, in the main but I have a few listed by genre eg Motown and Disco/Dance records. I’ve also got them separated into two main areas, those that I play most, cleaned, those that are played least and mostly need cleaning.

I use Discogs, got about a third of the collection catalogued, the ones I’ve cleaned up and play. Probably a good time to get the rest cleaned and put on the site.

Needed to replace mine a few years ago and wanted a vintage player. Monkey Music in Baker Street is where I ended up buying a refurbished turntable, he had plenty of choice at varying prices. Great shop. Ended up with a Linn LP12 which was too good to miss although I paid more than the wife had...

Got back into playing them in a big way a couple of years ago after buying a second hand record player. Then came adding amps and upgrading speakers. Happy with it now. Wife and I had a good collection of old Lps from our teenage years in the 70’s. However many were unplayable. Since buying a...
