I think many people have decided in this lockdown period to have a clear out and hopefully cash in.
The market is probably flooded right now, except for the real collectors items.
For anyone fancying a romantic view of the vinyl phenomenon, love, fall and renaissance then just watched a couple of great (linked) documentaries featuring indie shops nationwide (Brighton included).

No idea how or why, but apparently the best of both worlds can still be had. I've heard it's possible to enjoy the portability of a high resolution, rich vinyl rip done on top notch gear but in a lossless download format for your digital music platforms.
All a mystery to me.

In order to try and enjoy the best of both worlds, it is possible in many cases (I am led to believe) to make digital, hi res copies of 180g vinyl for playback on whichever system is appropriate. Not the same as the 'ceremonial' aspect of putting on a 12" platter but all of the warmer, richer...
