This is a man who when managing brought in a player on the say so of a student pretending to be George Weah, subbed the player on in a competitive game and then subbed him off having seen him actually play. Not a great history of doing his research!
20-21 was a Covid season, so income was down about 20m on a normal year with full match day income. Also last year we finished 7 places higher, which is approx an extra £15m. Amortisation will be up about 10m with all the players bought in but we had transfer income of about 70m so would guess...
Wouldn't look too much into those ratings. Brighton fans have been spamming them (aka doing a Leeds) since the World Cup started and our players have been top rated in every game they've played.
Seen quite a few NUFC fans on Twitter excited that Dan Ashworth was the man that recruited Mac Allister, which is some going considering he was signed about 3 months before Ashworth joined us.
Fair point. I still can't see us accepting release clause that would allow a mid-season player transfer though. I'm going to guess that the main motivation behind Mac's new contract was a significant increase in £££ from his original deal back in 2019.
Sort of what I was alluding to.
I've never actually seen a game, but based on salaries - and let's face it money is going to be the main factor in where the most talented players go - the Argentinian league is below the Dutch league.
Not that it's going to stop me believing that he's the next...
I hope people don’t put undue pressure on him to have a massive influence in the next 3 months. Sounds like he’s doing ok, but he’s playing in an inferior league to the Premier League and may not be ready to make the step up in class.
Not having a work permit wouldn’t prevent us from paying him. I’ve done work in the UK for a non-EU based company and been paid by them. I only needed to get a work permit when I eventually had to travel over and do a few weeks work there.
According to a quick Google search, the average attendance in their top league is 15.5k (with Boca averaging 35K); although this is from the same site that BG gets a load of his info from, so it could be complete bollocks.
In terms of quality however, there's no argument that the Euro Leagues...
I agree, but it's not one of the top leagues in Europe; it's objectively the top league in the world right now and far superior to the Argentine first tier in quality, crowd sizes and global audience.
My understanding is that he's played enough games that an automatic recall clause isn't triggered - but that doesn't necessarily mean he can't be recalled if we want it and he wants it. There's a lot of contradictory info going around about this; no one seems to know the full details of the...
Worth paying Boca the compo IF Potter thinks he can have a postive effect on the team in our run in.
I wonder if we're looking to do similar with White? We should do for three reasons: Burn is a long term injury. Dunk is on 8 yellows and will almost certainly miss 2 games between now and...
You may be right about the duration for south Americans - I know it's 10 years for Brits - but I still remember it being a grandparent that qualified him for a Spanish passport in this case. I also recall Ulloa being eligible to play for another country, I doubt he ever applied for citizenship...
The title of that article is a load of crap. He doesn’t say he’s not keen on a move to Brighton; he says he’s enjoying his time at Boca, which is what all loan players say about their temporary team.
Chances are he’s desperate to have a crack at playing in arguably the world’s best league with...
