Good question.
I don't think it's realistic to expect sustained growth forever, there will be a drop at some point. It's also realistic to assume there's a ceiling for BHAFC that's impossible to break through, Gus's big mouth was right about that although he was wrong about how high the...
And regarding the transfer, I don't blame him for wanting a move this summer. Off the back of his WC win his stock will never be higher than it is now, from his point of view he has to cash in while he's hot. It will only take an injury of bad form to knock ££££s off his value.
Yep, people forget about this element of buying players.
£50m players want £50m player wages. That's why they move from us in the first place!
The model can't change, identify talented young players and persuade them that we're a good career step for them.
What a player, and still only 23.
I love reading the press articles where they talk about how dedicated he is (and his brothers and Dad). Great player, great guy.
Who could've believed, while sat on a dodgy double decker travelling to Gillingham, that one day BHAFC would have a world cup...
Good 1st half for our boy.
Anyone else think they didn't focus enough on his give and go run followed by assist for the goal? That was incredible, as usual the commentators focus on Messi.
Newsflash: Simon Jenkins is wrong about literally everything! If he thinks we should hand back the Falklands, that alone is a good enough reason not to do it.
(Also see some of his absurd opinions about Russia and Ukraine)
He spotted a 30 yard forward pass from a tight spot, can't remember who to but think either Gross or Maupay. Completely removed their midfield from the game and should've resulted in a quick break for us but typically we wasted it!
Just checked this thread to see if there was an official verdict now we've seen him on the pitch. Guess it's on the match thread ???
I thought he looked quite good, got in the spaces and didn't look out of place at all.
A constant conversation in my group for the last 3 years is that we need to replace Stephens with another version of Stephens who is 30% better in every department.
Regardless of what's possible I think it's a bad idea to rush him over this season.
He's a young man who will have to adapt to a new culture, a new home and a completely different style of football. It's impossible to predict how much time he'll need to settle, I'd much rather we let him finish...
Totally agree. There's not a team in the world, or a style of football for that matter, that doesn't benefit from genuine pace. It stops the defending team from being as compact and pushes them back because they're scared of the ball over the top. It's a necessity on so many levels.
I get what you're saying, McAllister is undoubtedly a great prospect. It's the work permit situation that's the problem here, by all accounts neither McAllister or Tau are anywhere near being eligible to play for us. If it was just KM in isolation I could understand taking a gamble, but when you...
