Chelsea pulled in less than 9,000 for a midweek top-flight fixture with Charlton Athletic in the late 80s. In my time watching football I don't think (Wimbledon aside) any of West Ham, Spurs, Arsenal, or even Charlton getting so few for a top- flight fixture. At one time only Wimbledon had fewer...
I do. For so long we've been told how great the recruitment is at Palace and how they can get almost anybody they want. Here we are watching them scrape around for dubious targets (now being asked to almost double their bid for this Russian striker) and all this reliant on getting shot of Zaha...
Arsenal will pay £72m for Pepe but wouldn't pay £60m for £150m-rated Zaha (who must be so much better as he's the 3rd best player in the whole wide world)? The comedy continues
This might have something to do with the Palace fan's ridiculous £100-150m valuation of a player only ever worthy of CL-level football. Those chickens are now coming home to roost. It's not just Albion fan's finding this funny
I can see this going to the wire. Arsenal don't have to up any bid, they can just bide their time all the time they are the only interested club. It's Wilf that will start getting twitchy as the window closure approaches. In the meantime Arsenal can get on with solving all their other problems...
Neither do I but when it comes it won't be anywhere near Parish's valuation let alone that of the deluded fans. On top of that - that cut to United. I could never see TB being shafted like this
This is true but if Zaha doesn't get his wish soon he never will, and his career will only be remembered (and over-hyped) in Croydon. The rest of the football world will remember him about as much as it does Vince Hillaire, Morrison or Joniesta. Surely the 'Best Player Outside of the Top Six'...
He hasn't. Even when you beat us 3-2 last season he went AWOL when Chris changed things and we battered you in the second half. As for the season just gone........
And this is why he's not been at a big club (or failed in United's case) He is fast approaching 27 years of age - it's now our never.
