Riiiiiight. Except none of that makes sense if you read what I posted.
I've watched every game of the WC (except when 2 were on at a time), and obviously watched all of England's games, and of course I support them. I just generally care more about Brighton, as the FA and their choice of...
It doesn't work like that though. In the last bit of extra time we weren't defending a lead, and Colombia weren't trying to equalise. And it was only a wonder-strike from them that got them the corner, they were lucky to draw the game.
Each time we were under pressure and managed to get the ball to Kane, he managed to take it forward and then he'd be fouled.
He's scored 3 from open play and 3 penalties hasn't he? How many did Messi get, 1 (and missed a penalty). How many did Ronaldo get, 3 (inc 1 penalty)? And he's only...
There'd be no choice to make, obviously we'd support Brighton.
Didn't know it was their phrase. It's simply a way of saying I follow our club a great deal more than I follow England, and our results generally mean more to me. I obviously know our whole squad all the time, the same isn't true of...
Well I've just about recovered.
I couldn't even celebrate when we won, my nerves were shot to pieces.
It's club before country for me, but these massive waits between having a chance in the WC really do make the pressure mount.
Agreed.
We were. But even WC winning sides are sometimes crap at the start of a tournament, and we can often raise our game so that we only lose narrowly :)
But it still should have been 2-2 at half time, and Germany's main skill was fitting teams on the break. Not sure how they'd have coped carelessly losing their lead.
Pretty sure we played well in that match, and were unlucky to lose after that nasty deflection off Paul Parker.
Oops, forgot about 2010, when the linesman knocked us out, and goal line technology had to be introduced.
But Colombia haven't faced anyone decent yet. Switzerland held Brazil to a draw, Sweden nearly beat Germany (Sweden showed they are capable of being negative and causing their own downfall) and Sweden stuffed a decent Mexican team.
