[Football] Raheem Sterling has an AK 47 tattoo on his thigh. Should he play for England?

It works better side by side. https://twitter.com/Kevlarkey1/status/1001726674315169792 1001726674315169792

I think this gives him far more street cred than just being a black player who thinks gansta. Then again, there are people on here who just want to write him off as a thick footballer. https://twitter.com/LeighCurtis_NP/status/1001413468233388032 1001413468233388032

It is a woman whose son was shot, who wants him thrown out of the England team. I feel sorry for her, but this protest via the Sun, isn't helping her cause.

I hear he speaks well of you. His father was shot when he was two years old. I doubt Sterling is glorifying guns.

Look at funerals with a guard of honour or memorials. One guard on each corner with an inverted gun. Are all Arsenal players & fans in the Artillery?

A single rifle pointed downwards is nothing to do with gangstas nor a death instrument. THPP, his father was killed when he was two years old, so why would he make that up? As already pointed out, why haven't the permanently offended objected to the gun on every Arsenal shirt?

My Dad happily wored short sleeved shirts with his tattoo on his forearm. You cannot speak for millions.

Do tattoos ever go in or out of fashion? My Dad would have been 98 now had he lived, and he had one. It was done in the 1940s.

The best I can find is the order 'rest on arms reversed' which is what a guard does around a coffin or memorial. https://www.awm.gov.au/commemoration/customs-and-ceremony/arms

Apparently a single rifle pointing downwards is a symbol of peace. I can't verify that, but have seen it mentioned a couple of times elsewhere.

Your father was shot dead too? I'm so sorry.

It's a classic 'Lets see how many England players we can demoralise'. Sneak pictures of footballers without their long socks. His father was shot dead, so it reminds him of the horror of guns. Who are we to criticse that?
