    Slightly OT but bought an uncut farmhouse loaf at Tesco today and had a couple slices with boiled egg for lunch but back on track tomorrow with a sandwich of that with boiled bacon.

    Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys all advertise their 1/2 a french bread as batons @ about 45p each LIDL advertise their rolls about 10 in long @19p as baguettes This is the guidelines that I was using.as opposed to Carrefour in France. If my interpretation is wrong I am sorry.

    I was talking of UK supermarket baguettes and their french bread but as usual, once again you have to try to prove a point by posting a picture of bread in France but the vast majority on here and talking on this thread I would suggest are living in the UK.

    about 14 inches so the French Bread has to be cut 3 time once each end and sliced down the middle. A baguette is virtually an elongated roll.

    One of my old area managers asked my wife for a Banjo whenever he came to us and he wanted a fried egg and bacon sandwich He called it a banjo because the yolk invariably broke and dripped on his tie so he did a strumming movement to wipe it off.

    If its a roll or baguette then it is with a salt beef but if it is a sandwich or French Bread it is Bacon and either Brie or Mushrooms.
