I would have done it much better, but I think the idea was quite funny.

The JOKE was getting the dog to salute whilst saying something incredibly dark. It was ridiculous.
The joke wasn't saying the words; "Gas the Jews" - with no context.

It was clearly done for comedic reasons, and clearly not put out there as hate speech.
