A Dog's purpose is a decent film but I never said it was one of the greatest films of all time, you just made that up for effect. I gave it 82 for the record. Hachi, however is a different matter altogether
For what ir's worth my top 7 films of the year are, and I can't see this changing now
1. The Shape of Water - 98
2. Three Billboards - 93
3. Ready Player One - 92
4. Bohemian Rhapsody - 91
4. A Star of Born - 91
6. Mamma Mia, here we go again, yes really it is great - 89
7. The Darkest Hour - 88
You have nailed it here fella. Meade seems to hate cinema in general and in particular hollywood films. I really do not know why he puts himself through it
I thought a star is born and bohemian rhapsody were both superb films. Very high quality. Gaga and Malek are both very strong shouts for oscar nominations, or at least they should be. 88 and 87 out of 100
This is it's 4th week which is good, many films do not make it for longer than a week and it has taken over £ 5 000 000 at the uk box office which is a resounding success but I think it is a film that will do well here but not have broad appeal for much global success despite the cast
The Children Act. Ok, worth seeing for Emma Thompson acting masterclass, 74 out of 100. I saw A Monster Calls at the weekend. MY GOD how powerful at the end ! Superb in all departments, 92 out of 100
Hereditary for me was the worst film I have seen in many years. Nothing, literally nothing happened for 90 minutes and the last 30 minutes were bad comedy. The few people who had stayed were laughing out loud. I could not wait to leave the cinema
I loved it and I don't care who knows it. I am not and have never have been cool. I am not an Abba denier and I do not try and be hip and trendy by just watching art house films no one else sees just to assume a morally and intellectually higher ground. I know what I like. Mamma Mia, here we go...
I agree, I thought it was very good. 2nd best of the 5. I like to be entertained and it certainly did that. Saw the Happy Prince yesterday, brilliant perfornance from Everett. Sure to win awards and a very decent first direction effort. 83 out of 100
In my showing 2 people walked out after an hour and everyone was laughing through the last 20 minutes and at the end. Reading audience reviews this seems to be a common theme
I thought the Blair Witch Project was good and the ending was excellent, it was 100 x better than Hereditary. The more I think about it the angrier I get at losing 127 minutes of my life and £ 22
