Thought he looked pretty good when we were in the game, surprisingly winning a few headers and with decent touches. But obviously it's sensible to write him off when he's playing his first game for a while, out of position, away at Arsenal.
Apart from us having more corners than them in the first half of course.
I take your point though surely this early in the season we're looking for good signs against teams of this calibre.... and there've been some. I'm sure as the season goes on we'll be more ambitious against teams we have...
Because we'd be out of the game by half time otherwise. Next question?
Anyone that thinks we can take the top 6 on at their own game is seriously deluded. Keep it tight and we might nick the odd point in these matches.
Agreed. Bong is going ok with one decent break. Pretty obvious that Hughton has selected a left sided pair with enough pace to make sure Bellerin can't take anything for granted, despite being one of the fastest players in England.
Excellent half. Getting a few chances, still in the game, several corners. Even if we get nothing from this (as has always been very likely) lots of promise for the games to come against less talented teams. Some good touches from Brown, promising moments from Izquierdo, Ryan settled in nicely...
