Quite, though not forgetting only a desperate Kompany block prevented us going 1-0 up.
That said all of our defence played really well in that game

Nail and head.
Forgetting the comedy of errors for Leicesters first goal, they created next to nothing.
We just looked awful on Saturday offensively

Fair enough, good explanation.
I just don't take slagging off in that context, suppose it's the nature of the word always feels a bit aggressive to me. Thanks though.

Yes and I understand all of this, but it remains a discussion which surely is the point of a forum?
It just feels to me that anytime anyone mentions a player, poor performance, level of ability or otherwise, there is a huge defensive mechanism that goes up from various posters.

Don't agree at all re Duffy, positionally he saved us vs Leicester, the double block from Vardy for example.
If you look at the goal we conceded, Dunk had lost Morgan and Duffy had both players. I recall one error vs City, and perhaps the goal vs Athletico but you could also argue that Dunk...
What have YOU been watching?
Duffy? Feck me, I think he's been brilliant in the first two games.

Yes, but to be fair that was a different time.
Guy Butters mentioned to me he used to pop on here now and again to have a look, and the club certainly monitor it.
Also with a relatively sparse crowd at Withdean players are more likely to hear 'cat-calls', which could prompt them to follow it...
That is fair, but there is no doubt they are struggling, not to say they won't make it, but are definitely struggling.

Re last para, don't agree with you (sorry). How can it be counterproductive? We're just 'muppets from the stand', all with an opinion.
Inevitably we all have our favourites and villains, and therefore the good and bad for certain players will always be exaggerated.
I rarely hear people having...
