It really is. A few years ago a mate of mine was a producer on Sky News. I asked him how the hell Kay Burley was still employed and he said that was the question all the production staff asked themselves, and each other, on a daily basis.

It's not subjective. The other companies DO pay people way more to do the same job. You have an axe to grind but it's actually got nothing to do with the argument you're attempting to win.

Does it need spelling out? I think the BBC is bloody brilliant, the licence fee is necessary and reasonable and I couldn't care less how much individuals (Shearer aside) earn when the service as a whole is better than anything else in the World. "Transparency" is a myth. May wants private...

This, all the way. But this government hates the BBC so I guess it was just another way to attack it. As I've said before, I'd pay the licence fee just for 6 music so I really don't care what they do with the rest of it (apart from paying Shearer, that's just wrong).
