Replace distain for a stronger word then. The point remains the same.

...because of the global economic slowdown caused by the sub-prime mortgage crisis in the US. Or was that Labours fault too?

Well said, pretty much how I see it too.

    General Election 2017

That's very good advice. Trident is THE issue for me. Closely followed by the NHS. I feel let down by all three major parties on both of these issues bar the Conservatives who are strong on defence.

You have judged him, there's a difference. To Buzzer's point, yes I agree. But you still need distance and objectivity to get the whole picture - and that takes time - it's an ongoing process. Historians still change their opinion on historical figures and opinions come in and out of fashion...

    General Election 2017

Back on subject: I'd hate myself if I voted for May, but Labour = shambles and Liberals = weak on defence. First time in a long time I have no idea how to vote.

Bliar. Oh my sides. Are you a standup comedian on the side? Hilarious gags aside - There's lots you could use to criticise Blair, but lightweight he was not. He stood across the dispatch box from John Major, William Hague, Iain Duncan Smith, Michael Howard and David Cameron and rarely got out...

    General Election 2017

That was an era before there was a particular public interest in TV debates. It was deemed by many at the time - as still is by a large number - as an unwanted Americanism that puts personality ahead of politics. He certainly had nothing to fear from William Hague :lolol: The first debate...

    General Election 2017

Won't vote Labour. Corbyn's policies are uncosted and his stance on Trident makes him unelectable to him. Also, the idea of Dianne Abbot as Home Secretary is one of the most harrowing thoughts I could imagine. Wont vote Conservative. I agree with Blair that May is a lightweight and I think her...
