Also after he proved he wasnt good enough to be CB which is why Chelsea released him. For a tall lad he is useless in the air and very erratic with his tackling which is quite important for a CB.
Would that not be better than a right back who is very poor in the air in comparison to the majority of strikers and likely to get caught out of position by playing out of position.
Didnt we do similar with Upson and Hughes. His experience will get him through games in the early part of the season like Derby on Saturday. rather than a right back who is poor in the air.but good on the ground as a full back.
We have 3 CB when fit so a short term fix would become the 4th choice Hunemier will be on the bench and in case of suspension or injury would step into the side and hie be replaced by in my example Haagerland.on the bench Haagerland is at the end of his career and has been offered nothing so...
For fear of repeating myself offer a 6 month contract with the possibility of another 6 months to Haagarland released by CPFC. at the worst it will give us breathing space for Goldson and Hunemier
Chubba Akpong and Joel Campbell at Arsenal. Spurs have bought a striker for big money what do they have in U23s not likely to get a look in. There is of course always James Wilson at United.
Other than having to play Bruno at CB against Derby Saturday. I believe we have been down that route against them in previous seasons with out of position CBs
Kodja will be out of our range I think as Bristol City have indicated the selling price would have to start at £12m for them to even listen. Vydra I would go with, Duffy is way overpriced in my mind but Ridgewell could do the job as 4th choice cover and not be too expensive
Isnt the owner of...
I would put the signing of a new contract by Kayal and Stephens as less important this week than signing a CB and possibly a new no 10. That can wait until next week the 2 new signings shouldnt be kept waiting too long.
