I'm wondering if the Norwich management team has realised he's not as good as they first thought. 2 PL games for Spurs, and a few bit part appearances for West Brom don't strike me as the performances of a £10m player.
I wouldn't go to another company for 50% more if (a) it meant my role was less important, with long periods of boredom, and (b) I was already well paid.
I think it sums up the guy if he was close to signing for us, only to go back on his word because £ signs were flashing in front of his eyes...
Because it's not all about money.
10k per week more over 4 years means he earns £6m instead of £4m - what's another £2m to a very rich person? Taking that extra money to go to a team where he won't be first choice - on the bench for the first match, and not even in the squad today.
So rumour has it, he was offered £10k more per week, or £500k per year. To all of us, that's a huge amount.
Guessing we offered approx £20k per week, he will now be earning £6m over 4 years, as apposed to £4m. Once you're a multi-millionaire, is a couple more million going to make much...
I know it's not quite as simple as this, and advertising raises some revenue, but trebling the amount that Sky pay the PL must mean a huge increase in the amount subscribers pay Sky?
I don't know anyone who has taken out Sky recently, but I know several who have cancelled. There will come a...
I think £8m is a lot to pay for someone who hasn't had even a sniff of action in the PL. If we start selling off people (and I'm not a great fan of Baldock) to finance an even larger bid, I would be concerned.
LOL! I'm just relieved that the injury crisis got him out of there! But seriously, don't you get frustrated by all these promising players who aren't even good enough to be in an 18 man match day squad?
