Good sign that they think we're a promotion rival though. Many on here seem to think we'll struggle this season.
To be honest, the whole McCormack thing confuses me. I see no evidence that Norwich had a bid accepted so how can they be annoyed?
Exactly. If there were no parachute payments, clubs would have to adjust accordingly. It's a farce to have financial fair play when three clubs each year come down from the Premier League with a massive advantage because they failed the previous season. How is that fair?
Agree with that. Sidwell had made his name by the time he moved to Chelsea (and also that was Chelsea not Norwich). Warming the bench at Norwich would put his career back a long way. He needs games and with Naismith and Hoolahan to compete with, he probably won't be a regular. Having said that...
I can't believe a team would spend that much money on a player to stop a rival signing him. Sounds like they were going to spend the money on McCormack but, with Villa about to sign him, suddenly had money to spare. If I was Pritchard though, I would seriously think about that and wonder whether...
Think that is harsh. Ward was our own fault for waiting so long to sign him, Clayton we don't know the truth and Grabban used us to get a better deal. These three were all under previous regime.
With Winstanley in charge this hasn't happened until now. We can't stop players/agents/clubs leaking...
Gutted about Pritchard but from the moment it was released to the press that we were close to signing him, there was always a chance this would happen. It wouldn't have been us who released it so either Spurs were trying to get a better deal or Pritchard/his agent were.
It is frustrating though...
I can't believe this will happen but, if it does, what a signing it would be. He was brilliant for Brentford a couple of seasons ago and, although it didn't work out for him last year, he's a proven Championship player. The idea of him, Knockaert and one of Skalak/Murphy/March/LuaLua with...
