I'm really glad that I stayed up for that final game.
I too fell asleep when the Cubs were up 6-3 to awaken to the crowd going crazy as Rajai Davis tied the game with a two-run homer.
A big shout out to the girls from Babestation for perking me up during the 15 minute rain delay!
Rain delay of fifteen minutes as the clock slips past midnight in Cleveland. Top of 10th and Zobrist doubles in the goal ahead run, then Montero knocks in an insurance run. Surely the Cubs have done enough? up steps the hitless Heyward with bases loaded. He strikes out, Baez flies out, innings...
Poor throw skips away from Kipnis, Hayward to third, one out. Then a bonehead call to bunt sees Baez strike out, then a wonder play from Lindor guns down Fowler. High drama!
Indeed, and the fact that in Story and Arenado they have the two of the top 5 home run hitters. I can't remember that many runs in an innings in 30-odd years of following baseball.
My prediction:
AL - Blue Jays, Royals, Astros, Wild Card - Rangers.
NL - Mets, Cubs, Giants, Wild Card - Nationals.
World Series - Cubs to beat the Blue Jays 4-3
