I got the Space Oddity single as a Christmas present in 1975 age 10. Pre-teens Bowie was one of a handful artists that made an impresssion on me, along with Bolan, Slade, T-Rex and Sweet. All I think are still worth a listen, but none have endured, morphed and re-invented themselves, like Bowie...
