First tweet I've seen that rings true.
There has to be some back story to this deal if we're not going to be walking away looking like amateurs at the big boys' table. :nono:
Field day for our friends up the road
Sorry Bozza but my guess is we can expect to hear by Monday/Tuesday or thereabouts that he is ours unless Emelec try to play silly buggers and we pull the plug as a result. Debut v Huddersfield off the bench?
To summarise
Albion, Bozza & Naylor all say no deal
Emelec say they've done a deal but not who with
The media in Ecuador seem to think he is coming to us
The media in Brazil think he will sign for Corinthians
Somewhere in there is the truth (maybe)
My translation would be "the story ends ..... This is the side who have taken Killer (Bolanos)"
Fairly emphatic ...........
.......but if Bozza is right we must have agreed a fee with the club but been rejected by the player
Think it says everything about the press and social media that although Corinthians have said they are not in for him and Emelec and his agent confirms they haven't bid, the Corinthian rumours (even down to detailed bids) are still flying.

Resolution in theory later today.
Edit: from what I can make out Emelec have a press conference at 8.30 in Argentina (14.30 our time if I guess right) where they are in...
Those great success stories Cristian 'Chino' Baz & Agustin Battipiedi ?
Interestingly Emelec's Argentinian replacement for The Killer also has the nickname "el chino"
Fenerbache, Udinese, Sampdoria, Espanyol, Shanghai the reported competition while Corinthians are seemingly/maybe/maybe not out of it.......... but not clear who has actually bid.
Who would he choose?
Agree,
FWIW this doesn't seem to have the third party ownership issues of the Calleri deal so just the matter of his agent trying to drum up the best deal with I suspect his personal interest being best served by keeping the player in South America, players who change continents are more likely...
All the South American press talk is about Bolanos & Corinthians.
Reports seem to confirm he is on his way to Brazil to discuss terms although all his agent says is that he is "available for negotiations" with a suggested $8m fee
Some comment that it is surprising that "no good European club...
